Altera's Non-Volatile MAX 10 FPGA Evaluation Boards
Now in Stock at Mouser

November 3, 2014 - Mouser Electronics, Inc. is now shipping the MAX® 10 FPGA Evaluation Boards from Altera Corporation. These evaluation boards support test and development of the new Altera Non‑Volatile MAX 10 Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs) featuring integrated dual configuration flash memory, embedded RAM, embedded DSP, analog to digital converter blocks, and embedded processor support, all on one die.

The Altera MAX 10 FPGA Evaluation Boards, available from Mouser Electronics, provide developers with a cost-effective platform to program and test the Altera MAX 10 FPGAs. Features include full logic, I/O, and power evaluation, Arduino shield expansion, and a prototyping area. A JTAG header allows for easy test and debugging, while programmable user LEDs provide status feedback. The evaluation board comes with all necessary software and IP including the GUI-based Quartus® II FPGA design software with Analog Toolkit, DSP Builder, Nios® II Embedded Design Suite, and PowerPlay Early Power Estimator.

Dual configuration flash memory integrated in MAX 10 FPGAs allows the device to store two chip configurations in a single chip. MAX 10 FPGAs update safely and reliably by keeping a fallback image in Flash. The new MAX 10 FPGAs contain up to 50,000 logic elements (LE) and boasts advanced processing capabilities in a low‑cost, single chip programmable logic device. MAX 10 FPGAs are built on a 55nm embedded NOR flash process with embedded SRAM, and are available with up to 500 user‑programmable I/O pins.

MAX 10 FPGAs include integrated 12‑bit 1Msps analog-to-digital converters (ADCs) with up to 18 input channels. MAX 10 FPGAs also include additional processing capabilities such as the Nios II real‑time soft core embedded processor, as well as Digital Signal Processing (DSP) blocks. An external memory interface for DDR3 memory is available on selected devices. 128‑bit Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) design security helps protect programmed devices from being reverse-engineered.
