Der Texas Instruments bq24157S Schaltmodus-Einzellen-Li-Ion-Ladegerät-IC ist ein kompaktes, flexibles, hocheffizientes, USB-freundliches Schaltmodus-Lademanagementgerät für Einzelzellen-Li-Ion- und Li-Polymer-Akkus, die in einer Vielzahl von tragbaren Anwendungen eingesetzt werden. Die Ladeparameter können über eine I²C-Schnittstelle programmiert werden. Die IC integriert einen synchronen PWM-Controller, Leistungs-MOSFETs, Eingangstromabtastung, hochgenaue Stromregulierung und eine Ladeabschaltung in einem kleinen DSBGA-Gehäuse. Die Aufladung der Batterie durch die IC erfolgt in drei Phasen: Aufbereitung, konstanter Strom und konstante Spannung. Der Eingangsstrom ist automatisch auf den durch den Host festgelegten Wert begrenzt. Die Ladung wird basierend auf der Batteriespannung und dem von Benutzer auswählbaren Mindeststrompegel beendet. Ein Sicherheitstimer mit Reset-Kontrolle bietet ein Sicherheitsbackup für die I²C-Schnittstelle.
