Parallax LaserPING 2m Rangefinder

Parallax LaserPING 2m Rangefinder is a Time-of-Flight (TOF) Sensor Module designed to take measurements between moving or stationary objects. The LaserPING Rangefinder is based on Class 1 850nm VCSEL (Vertical Cavity Surface Emitting Laser). A single I/O pin is used to both query the LaserPING Sensor for its latest distance measurement, and to read the reply.

LaserPING can be used with nearly any microcontroller, utilizing its (Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) mode or an optional serial mode. LaserPING is designed to be circuit- and code-compatible with the Parallax PING))) Ultrasonic Distance Sensor, making applications adaptable where different environmental conditions need to be considered. The LaserPING Sensor features an integrated co-processor to ensure the right logic levels. Measurements can even be taken through an acrylic window to protect the sensor.

The I/O connections of the LaserPING Module operate at the same voltage supplied to the Voltage In (VIN) pin, ensuring compatibility with 3.3V and 5V microcontrollers.
