Adafruit IoT Pi Printer Project Pack - v2 is an IoT-connected mini printer with a laser-cut case. This printer connects wirelessly to the internet for printing onto 2 1/4" comprehensive receipt paper. The IoT Pi Printer Project Pack is a powerful mini Linux machine based on a Raspberry Pi computer. Using the example code, this project pack can print the daily weather forecast report, sudoku puzzles, images, and tweets. The printer connects Twitter's search API and retrieves and prints tweets from a person, a hashtag, or those related to a word upon request. The IoT printer project pack can be easily assembled with a bit of soldering.

Required Equipment

  • USB keyboard (and mouse, if installing from NOOBS GUI), maybe a hub as well
  • Monitor (HDMI or composite) and cable
  • USB cable: A to micro B 
  • Small screwdriver
  • Soldering iron and solder
  • Wire cutter and stripper
  • A wireless (Wi-Fi®) internet access point
  • Desktop or laptop computer with USB, internet connection, and at least 1GB of free disk space for downloading and uncompressing software
  • Optional: sticky tape, heat-shrink tubing
