HDMI Equalizers for Broadcast Platforms

An HDMI Equalizer or Re-Driver is used to boost or weaken select frequency components in an HDMI signal. The equalizer/re-driver can compensate for signal loss and can provide a selectable combination of amplifying, conditioning, and filtering or even a complex conditioning algorithm to obtain clarified signals on the receiving end. It is used in high speed data transmission links and coaxial cables to improve reliability of digital signals over distances. For broadcast applications, the equalizer is critical in preserving the signal, eliminating pathological patterns, preserving the waveform itself, and optimizing performance. For audio applications, equalization is something of an art form in terms manipulating signals for desired results.
